Beautiful cabbage

Gardens inside a Japanese city tend to be small, but they sure love gardening here. Many people have flowerpots arranged in front of their houses, even if there are just a few centimeters of space. And they show some creativity in the choice of plants.

Obviously this is some kind of cabbage. This violet and white arrangement looks really nice, and I wonder if these will be eaten or just used for decoration. 😉 While I have seen some decorative vegetable gardens in Germany, I don’t remember anything like this. Around here, cabbage is a quite popular “flower”.
